Lusaka

Lusaka is the capital of Zambia and also the country’s largest city counting over 3 million people. English is the official language in Zambia, spoken by the majority of Zambians in urban areas.

As one of the fastest-growing city centers in Central Africa, the city is a big commercial centre as well as the centre of government. In recent years, Lusaka has become a popular destination for Zambians and expatriates alike. Its growing infrastructure sector has boosted investor confidence and through effective economic reforms, it is thought that the city and country alike are likely to develop considerably in years to come. Expatriates in the region consist mainly of diplomats and people working in the aid industry, as well as some business people.

The city is central to the main highways leading north, south, east and west and its airport is an important national and international link. Zambia is a landlocked country with a mild tropical climate. Its weather is so pleasant that it has been nicknamed “The air-conditioned state”. Victoria Falls lies on Zambia’s southern border at the tourist center of Livingstone.

The unit of currency in Zambia is the Kwacha. It is a convertible currency and its rate of exchange has remained stable for the past few years. Credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, travel agents and some of the larger shops.

Tourism is an increasingly important industry in Botswana, accounting for approximately 10% of GDP in 2006. One of the world's unique ecosystems, the Okavango Delta, is located in Botswana. The country offers excellent game viewing and birding both in the Delta and in the Chobe Game Reserve--home to one of the largest herds of free-ranging elephants in the world. Botswana's Central Kalahari Game Reserve also offers good game viewing and some of the most remote and unspoiled wilderness in southern Africa.

A most do, is a safari with the stunning views, nowhere in the world holds views quite as spectacular as this place.
